Policy Review and Inspection
The initial inspection should be scheduled during a time when you’ll be present. We will perform an inspection to assess the extent of your loss and review your policy thoroughly to determine how your coverages, limits, and/or exclusions apply to the circumstances of your loss and then create a strategy to get your financial recovery underway
Claim Preparation and Documentation
There’s a provision in insurance policies titled “Your Duties After a Loss” that policyholders must comply with when filing an insurance claim. Failure to satisfy these policy requirements may reduce your settlement amount or even cause your claim to be denied. The team at North Florida Public Adjusters will work tirelessly to compile a profile tailored to your property which conforms to your policy. This profile will include detailed, itemized damages, expert reports (when necessary), and estimates for property damages, additional living expenses, lost income, business interruption, etc. We’ll also look at local laws and ordinances, decisions made by the Insurance Commissioner’s office, industry articles as well as recent court cases to determine whether current adjusting practices and procedures may differ from your policy (in some cases they do). Negotiations and Settlement
At this point, we may meet with you again to review your claim and answer any remaining questions you have. During this final phase of the claims process the insurance company will pose several clarification requests as a delay tactic. We try to expedite the process as much as possible, initiating status updates from the insurer and keeping you informed of all negotiations. North Florida Public Adjusters will attempt to minimize your involvement with the insurance company while we work diligently to justify the legitimacy and value of your property damage claim. An insurance claim is only settled when we have your approval.
